Fourth grader Scab McNally has a real quandary on his hands.
During a fishing expedition with his two best friends and new favorite doggy companion, golden retriever Joe, he's convinced that he glimpsed some kind of swamp creature.
All Scab needs to do is get permission to go back out on Beeson's Lake with another fishing rod (and some special handcrafted dinosaur-spying inventions, of course!) and he'll be able to find proof.
But before she'll let him back out on the water, Scab's mom insists that he pass the swimming class he's being forced to take with his "smart times ten" twin sister Isabelle.
That means Scab has to master swimming in the super deep end of the pool, and Scab is NOT ready for that! So, it's back to his top secret lab to diagram some special schemes and plans for the occasion.
Will any of them go awry? Well, it wouldn't be any fun if they didn't, would it?

  •     This is a really great book for boys! Scab's mom makes him take swimming lessons which he hates so he comes up with a funny way to get out of it. He's really scared of the deep end. He also thinks there's a dinosuar in the lake and comes up with a remote control submarine to take underwater pictures to prove it. But then Scab's dog jumps in the water and ... you'll have to read the book to find out what happens. I liked this book even better than the first one in the series!

  •     This book is so funny! First Scab doesn't want to go swimming wearing a suit with squirrels on it and he gets scared of the deep water so he makes this fake toe to get out of it. He also thinks he sees a dinosaur in the lake and then tries to figure out how to prove it. I laughed so hard, especially at the part where his fake toe goes flying! I really recommend this book. It's my favorite this year.

  •     Grandson and his whole family loved the Rugrats Audio books

  •     Reading doesn't come naturally to him, and I have to be scavenging books. He loved this one and asked for more. He is 8.

  •     My son absolutely loves this book and series! He needed another series to read after finishing all the Diary of a wimpy kid books. This series fits what he likes to read. Just goofy boy things. He is a very active 8 year old and is very into outdoor things and running around playing. He is so into this book tho, it is the first thing he does when he comes in. He is glued to these books and keeps his attention, which is hard to do. This is so far his 2nd in the series and I plan to keep it going
