- My 2 year old loves this book and wants me to read it to her over and over. The book is about 8 inches square and has 5 sets of fold out pages. Each has a rhyming riddle on the right hand page, which then unfolds up and out to reveal the answer and uncover a photo of a child dressed as the character in question (witch, monster, etc). The rhymes are cute and my daughter loves seeing the pictures of the different kids in costumes (esp the last page where all the kids are revealed). There is nothing scary about the text, it is all cute and fun, and the large photos of the kids on each page are very clear on a white background. The only downside is that the cardboard pages are not as thick as some board books, probably because then there would be no way for them to fold in. If it isn't carefully refolded back in the proper way (which is a little tough for an enthusiastic toddler, esp on her own), the pages can rip along the fold a bit. They are easy to tape back together though, or it can be for special supervised reading time if you want to keep it in one piece.
