  •     I gave this to my nephew years ago and I am going to give this charming book to a friend's young one this year.

  •     William Joyce is one of the most talented children's authors at present day. His list of books that I have grown to love myself is ever growing and I am thrilled being a new kindergarten teacher to share his works in my classroom.A Day with Wilbur Robinson is a fun tale of a little boy's best friend and his wacky yet loving family. Full of imagination and creativity, the book will be sure to delight children and adults of all ages. I challenge you to not let this book make you smile.

  •     William Joyce has great attention to detail. I really love this story!

  •     I love it !!

  •     you can never go wrong with a William Joyce book. My kids love him, the illustrations outstanding, stories are always engaging.

  •     My kids love William Joyce books...

  •     This story moved very slowly. I originally purchased this book after realizing that Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" was based on it. While the movie was inspiring and engaging, teaching important values about family and friendship, I found the book so boring and slow I couldn't finish it. I gave the book three stars because the illustrations are still enchanting. I love the style and humor. If you buy this book, realize it's greatest feature is it's art, and don't hope for anything as clever as the movie.

  •     The grandkids loved this and made the connection to the Disney movie right away which made it all the more fun to read to them. It is now one of their favorites.

  •     William Joyce is an artist for all ages. In fact, I may love this book even more as an adult than I might have as a child because the eccentricities of the Robinson family really evoke childhood wonder and bring me back to that place of unlimited imagination. I don't have kids: I bought this book just for myself.

  •     I bought this book because I'm a huge fan of the movie "Meet the Robinsons" which is loosely based on this book. I enjoyed reading the book. I note that the movie is only loosely based on the book, not only because it differs in some aspects from the movie, but because the only aspects that the movie really used from the book were the characters of the Robinsons and some of the ideas for their house and activities. The boy who is "Lewis" in this book is actually not named because the book is narrated in first person from his perspective, and he is strictly a friend of Wilbur in this book who spends a day visiting him and his interesting family. Many of the characters and events are similar to the movie as I stated, but aside from that the movie is an original story. However, I still enjoyed reading this book and it would be a good book for children whether or not they are familiar with the movie.

  •     Rarely is there a book that parents enjoy reading as much as their children. It was a nightly ritual at my house and now that I have grandchildren a must for their 5th birthdays. William Joyce's illustrations are classic--I always enjoyed his New Yorker covers--and here he gets to really shine. While children might not appreciate, for example, that Lefty the butler is an octopus, every time I turn the page and see him, I chuckle. Hat's off to Joyce. Make sure this is a must have on your family's bookshelf.

  •     My kids absolutely LOVE Meet the Robinsons, the Disney movie inspired by this book, so I bought the book. They love it! The story is really cute, about a boy who goes to his friend's house and meets his crazy family. The illustrations are beautiful, and it's so fun to see my kids compare the book to the movie.

  •     Got here no problem!
