From Booklist

Gr.
2^-4, younger for reading aloud.
Although billed as a joke and riddle book, this is also full of snippets of interesting baseball lore.
For instance, in 1985 Bert Campaneris made baseball history by playing all nine positions--in one game! These brief anecdotes are what set the book above the usual riddle compilations.
Clever pen-and-ink drawings add to the fun.
Ilene Cooper

  •     I liked the book because I like jokes and baseball. The jokes were extremely funny. My favorite joke - "Why did the pitcher throw a ball across the table?" "The manager told him to put one over the plate!" I am 7(seven) years old.

  •     This small book has about 50 simple baseball jokes and riddles suitable only for youngsters between, say, five and eight

  •     Cute little book of jokes about baseball. They are definitely directed towards children; however, the adults had a few chuckles from them as well.

  •     Baseball Jokes and Riddles will keep kids of all ages laughing for many hours. Included in this never to be forgotten book is some baseball history, unusual names of some baseball players, goofy bits of baseball trivia, and some delightful cartoon illustrations. And who doesn't like a good laugh once in a while?Miss Molly, a good friend, says her home school class liked all the jokes, shared them with their friends, and enjoyed a good laugh. I strongly recommend this baseball story, give it five stars, and I'm Marvin P. Ferguson, author of BOYS ON THE GOLD COAST.
